Or the restoration of sanity.
You would be hard-pressed to convince me that there is anything more delicious than a creamy, sweet, spicy bowlful of corn chowder.
I crave the stuff on a weekly basis.
And although I don't give into said cravings all that often, I recently made a little red house garden version.
Fresh carrots, onion, celery, and herbs.
The only thing I had to buy was the actual corn.
Which you might find confusing, considering half of our "big garden" is still housing 12 feet tall corn stalks.
It isn't the sweet corn I needed here.
It is a different variety that our Kenyan neighbor planted.
Which apparently is delicious (at least according to John).
But it's not sweet.
So off to the farm stand I went.
Garden Corn Chowder
Serves 4- 6
Enjoy this chowder - this basic recipe can be adapted in so many different ways. Instead of corn, add clams or haddock (I'd just remove the carrots as well and add in some garlic). Or add shrimp and paprika to this corn chowder for a really tasty, kicked-up version!
